To All Residents of Goose Creek, (1/22/25)
We have received numerous calls and messages regarding the installation of internet service at Goose Creek. As a company, we are committed to assisting when necessary. However, during the planning and discussion phase of this initiative, we received the attached letter, which has significant implications.
We understand that many residents are already using alternative solutions for internet access, such as smartphones. The requirement for traditional telephone lines has largely diminished due to advancements in technology. While we recognize and empathize with the desire for internet access in homes, the details outlined in the attached letter make it clear that the proposed installation is not a feasible option at this time.
The letter specifies a need for an 80-foot Right of Way (ROW), whereas most properties in Goose Creek only offer 40 to 50 feet. This would result in the loss of additional land to a utility company. Considering this, we believe there are other viable methods for residents to obtain internet access without compromising your property boundaries.
For instance, many residents have successfully utilized cellular gateway boxes provided by their cell phone providers, which are cost-effective and easy to set up. Additionally, satellite internet services such as Starlink and similar providers can offer reliable connections, even in remote areas. These options are practical and align with the lifestyle of those who prefer to remain off-grid.
As an example, in my travels, I have utilized solar power, propane, wind energy, and other off-grid solutions to maintain access to heat, hot water, and internet connectivity. These approaches have proven to be both cost-effective and straightforward.
With the constraints outlined in the letter, we are unable to support further advancements for internet installation requiring additional easements. However, we encourage exploring the alternative solutions mentioned above to meet your connectivity needs.
If you have any questions or concerns about this matter or any other issues regarding Goose Creek, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I will respond to your inquiries promptly.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Glenn Mize

Country Acres Inc. Customers,
Gardening is a rewarding and practical way to produce fresh, nutritious food right in your backyard. Here are some tips to help you cultivate a successful garden.
- Know Your Soil: Understanding the composition of your soil is crucial for gardening success. Sunbright’s soil is generally fertile, but testing your soil’s pH and nutrient levels can help you determine what amendments are needed. Adding compost and organic matter can improve soil structure and fertility.
- Choose the Right Plants: Select plants that are well-suited to Sunbright’s climate. Warm-season crops like tomatoes, peppers, beans, and squash thrive in the summer months. Perennial herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano are also excellent choices for a sustainable garden.
- Practice Companion Planting: Companion planting involves growing certain plants together to enhance growth and deter pests. For example, planting basil near tomatoes can improve the flavor of the tomatoes and help repel insects. Marigolds are another great companion plant, as they deter nematodes and other pests.
- Water Wisely: Water is a precious resource, especially for off-gridders. Implementing efficient irrigation methods, such as drip irrigation or soaker hoses, can reduce water waste. Mulching your garden beds helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Embrace Organic Practices: Avoid chemical pesticides and fertilizers in favor of organic alternatives. Homemade compost, natural pest deterrents like neem oil, and beneficial insects can help maintain a healthy garden ecosystem.Happy Summer!!
